WONKHE - What use are anonymous reports of sexual violence?

We know that not all incidents of sexual violence are reported, this can be for several reasons from feelings of shame to fear of reprisal. As part of our ProtectED Code of Practice we ask that universities provide an easy to access reporting system, that has the option of anonymous reporting. Like the University of York who are featured in the Article, we know that important information that may go unreported without anonymous reporting, can be used to make changes to policies and systems and in some cases lead to the guilty party, without having to involve the victim. You can read the full article here.

If you want to talk to us about our Student Harassment and Sexual Assault instrument, which is now available as a stand alone guidance, please send me an e mail at l.ravenscroft@protect-ed.org and we can have a chat about how we can support you.
