The PIE News: Scams and sex-for-rent: int’l student accommodation woes in Ireland

With the rising problem of finding affordable accommodation, many students are at risk of becoming victims of scams. Everything from scams involving students paying a deposit on a room, only to find when they arrive, the person they have paid isn't there and the property is owned by completely different person who knows nothing about it and doesn't have a room for rent, to students being asked for sex in exchange for a room when they arrive. The PIE have looked into the issues that international students have been facing Ireland. It will be interesting to see what solution can be brought about and quickly.
