The Guardian: Human traffickers ‘using UK universities as cover’

The Guardian has shared a piece entitled 'Human traffickers ‘using UK universities as cover’, while this isn't something that thankfully is common, it has happened to a number of students, and is something that universities need to be aware of.

International students are more vulnerable to this sort of crime, so it is imperative that this is covered in international Students pre arrival pack, warning them of all safety issues, they may encounter before they arrive. We have a whole instrument of our ProtectED, Code of Practice dedicated to the safety and support of international students.

You can read the Guardian Article here, and if you want to look into this further you can read the full report from the University of Nottingham Rights Lab The Slavery-Free Campus:A blueprint for university action against modern slavery here.
