Target student mental well-being
Published by AAAS and written by Alan I. Leshner this interesting piece, clearly outlines the problems universities in America are facing supporting the mental health of their students.
The stats showing the acceleration of problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic, also ring true in UK universities with campuses closed and support now online.
The ProtectED Code of practice highlights the measures that universities need to have in place to fully support staff and students mental wellbeing, covering everything from what formal procedures should be in place to what online apps they should provide for students to give remote support. We feel that although students may be at home or off campus there is still an obligation to look after a students mental health and wellbeing. Read the full article here.
