Good practice in addressing Student Harassment & Sexual Assault

On Thursday 30 July 2020 we held our third ProtectED Reflections webinar the first in our Safeguarding the Student Experience series

Webinars in this series all relate to specific aspects of the ProtectED Code of Practice — with this webinar relating to ProtectED Instrument 3 – Student Harassment and Sexual Assault, which can be downloaded here.

We were very pleased to welcome our speaker for this event: Georgina Calvert-Lee, Head of UK Practice and Senior Counsel at international law firm McAllister Olivarius — and also a member of the ProtectED Advisory Board.

Georgina was interviewed by Professor Caroline Davey, one of the founders and Directors of ProtectED.

Georgina has recently co-authored guidance on the handling of sexual misconduct complaints in UK higher education partnership with research and lobbying organisation, the 1752 Group. The guidance document can he downloaded here. Georgina has many years experience giving advice and representing students on the issue of sexual misconduct, and you can watch Caroline's excellent interview with Georgina in the video above.
